End of Summer

 In my backyard, I still have some flowers in bloom.  Here are cosmos with a honey bee.

Black-capped Chickadees come here all the year around.

"I like the suet👍."

Rufous Hummingbirds are still here.

"I like the beebalm and the hot lips (in the back)😍."

Rufous Hummer's Busy Day

In my backyard, I plant sunflowers every summer for birds to eat the seeds.  Now they began to bloom.

Now Rufous Hummingbirds began to migrate from north  to south.  More are visiting here on the way.  Each Rufous has a little bit different character.  This one was talkative; often her mouth was wide open.

"I have a lot to tell you."

Some likes to drink the hotlips nector most of the time.

"I have to drink a lot before leaving here."

On a rare occasion, I noticed a Rufous Hummer wants to drink water like Anna's Hummingbird.

"My friend, Anna's Hummingbird, told me to drink 

water a lot on a very hot day."

Early Morning Wetland

 We went to the wetland around 7:00am.  Many Redwing  Blackbirds were waking up, moving to another feeding spot.

A Bald Eagle was on the way to a hunting spot early in the morning.

"I am hungry."

Down below where the sun begins to hit, a Great Blue Heron was staring the water.

"I saw a fish moving down there."

Anna's Bath

 Anna's Hummingbird likes to take a bath at this fountain.

"Today is hot.  I need to take a bath.😍"

"Is the water nice and cold?👍"

"Yeah,  I feel so good.😁😁😁"

One Summer Morning

 At the wetland, a couple of young California Squirrel were taking a morning nap.

"Do not bother us.  We are taking a suntan this morning☝."

One Pie-billed Grebe was swimming with ducks.

"The morning time in the pond is nice and quiet😄👌."

In the bush area, one female Purple Finch was watching me.

"I saw you the other day👀👀😁."

Hummingbirds

 In summer, I like to see the Crocosmia flowers.  In the past I planted several of them, which all failed to come back the next summer.  So I just bought a couple of them again.  Hummingbirds love the nectar.

Anna's Hummingbirds stop by often all the year round.

"This is my home."

Rufous Hummingbirds stop by in summer only.  The other day, a couple of them were chasing each other.

"I like to perch on the clothesline.   I know the 

backyard owner likes to take my photos."

Summer Morning

 One bright sunny morning at the wetland, a female Redwing Blackbird had a couple of worms on the beak.

"I just found these juicy worms for my kids."

A total of six young ducks are marching along the trail.

"We are learning to walk together, 1,2,3,  1,2,3."

Up on a tall tree, a Northern Flicker was feeding a young one.

"A delicious worm, Honey."
