Big Birds

It's been raining all the time.  Before this long-lasting rain, we had a beautiful sunny day.

On a Nice Day at the Wetland

On a sunny day at the wetland,

Bufflehead male:  "Hello, my friend."
Green-winged Teal, male:  "It is nice today."

Canvasback, male: "I stay far away from the shore."

Double-crested Cormorant:  "I can suntan here on a nice day."

More Waterfowls

At the reservoirs, I found just one Western Grebe amongst other ducks.

"Hi, I am all by myself today.  I am quite independent."

"We are Green-winged Teals."

Up high I saw one Double-crested Cormorant.

"You might have seen us in "顜飼(Ukai)"
which is an ancient way of catching fish."

The Wetland Scene

We took off to the nearby wetland after a while.  It was cloudy, but a young Bald Eagle was there to welcome us.

A young Double-crested Cormorant was there amongst the Canadian Geese.

Another stranger was one juvenile Trumpeter's Swan when all the rest have already gone to Canada or Alaska.  He was doing just fine with the Canadian Geese family.

"I have adopted the geese for my family."
