Summer Food Variety

Summer is fun.

"I can still drink the sweet sugar juice."

"I like these sages with little blossoms."

"I like this large purple sage."

Summer Friends at the Wetland

Last week the wetland nearby was quiet since many people are on vacation. 

"I can dry up my feather this morning."

"This little pond is now halfway covered with weeds.  Hard to find a fish."

"I was born this summer.  I will have the black cheek when I mature.  

I will travel to south in September."

American Robins

American Robins visit here in the backyard.  At this time of year, they like to eat my blueberries.  Now that I picked enough, I let them eat as they want.  Sometimes I drop enough berries on the ground for them.

"Thanks a million for the berries."

 

"I can see better on this pear tree."

"Sometimes I bring in a young one."

Friends at the Wetland

  A week ago, a couple of Cedar Waxwings and an American Goldfinch were looking far from the top of the fir tree.

"A nice day to look far away."👍

"A nice day to munch the delicious berries."🤩

Cowbird, male: "A nice day for me, too."🌞

Every bird seems to enjoy being in the wild place."

A Baby Bird

 A big dragonfly comes to the backyard during the hot summer months.🐝🐞👀

Now is the time for baby birds to appear in my backyard.  This is a House Finch female baby.

"My mum told me it is safe here."😁👍

"I'm drinking and bathing here."😉👌

Birdbath Friends

 The weather is now very hot for a week (around 100 F).  My backyard finally have one, two, and three white butterflies floating around.

I have three birdbaths in the backyard.  This cement one is heavy and old.  

"I like this one in the shade, though it is shallow."😉😁

"I like it, too.  It hides me for safety."😉👍

 At the wetland nearby, Song Sparrows are very friendly.

"I like to catch a fish early in the morning."👀

"I like to find some bugs inside the reed."😉
