Busy Backyard

Many rainy days.  I can not go to the wetland, so I watch my backyard for bird visitors.

"We come here often," said one of the Bushtit flock.πŸ˜‰

"I see the frost on the ground," said one of the two Red-breasted Nuthatches.❄️⛄

"Ta, ta,... I have to take off quickly before another one of us shows up here."πŸ˜πŸŽ„

Cold Days

Now I had to get all the Christmas decorations out.
The temperature is getting chilly these days.

At the wetland nearby, I saw several Common Mergansers far away.

"We just arrived here."πŸ‘

Ruddy Ducks were far away at the other end.

"We like to stay away from people."πŸ˜‰

A good thing was that near a bench at the trail, I saw a Ruby-crowned Kinglet.

"I am usually here to find a little bug."🀩

Winter Sun

Yesterday, the sky was blue for a little while.

The young Red-tailed Hawk was enjoying the sun.

"It is nice and warm now.  I am going up higher."

Down below, a Golden-crowned Sparrow was munching the beauty berries.

"These are the only berries left now."

Next to it, a Yellow-rumped Warbler was ready to nibble the favorite suet.

"I come here everyday for the suet."

Fall is Red

After Halloween, it was very dark.   Now that the winter time started yesterday, I feel better.  Maybe birds may feel the same?

More birds come and visit in the backyard with the cold temperature outside.

"I am back when the leaves change to red."

"I am here all the time for the suet and peanuts."

"I munch on the suet, too.  I am very small and swift."

September at the Wetland

The other day, we had a big rain storm over night.  The weather is now cooling.  Most of the summer birds have left our area for south.

"I am a Lesser Goldfinch and we stay around here during winter."

"I am a Killdeer and am back from the woods.
We stay here during the cold months."

"I am Anna's Hummingbird and move to backyards pretty
soon.  We appreciate the sugar juice the backyard owners prepare."

Time to Grow Up

At the end of summer, birds have to finish raising their youngs.

House Finch dad is helping out feeding the young.

"I want more."😁

"Today is a flight practice."πŸ‘

"I am already grown up, all by myself now."🀩😊
