Today's Catch

This time of the year, at the nearby wetland, we often see an Osprey hunting for a fish.  The other day I saw a big fish being carried away.

"I have a super vision."

Ready for a big splash....

Is it a big catch?

Heavy, indeed.

"Hurry to feed my little ones!"

Little Ones Season

During the summer months, birds lay eggs, feed their babies, and train them to be independent.

A month ago, I saw a Bewick's Wren feeding a couple of little ones.

"My mom said this backyard is safe for me."

A couple of weeks ago, House Sparrow dad was feeding a young.

"I AM busy feeding this one."

Everyday Lesser Goldfinches come and feed on thistle seeds at my feeder.
Now I noticed they brought their baby to teach how to find food, etc.

"Yum, yum, tasty, Dad."

A Diving Bird

Too many showers lately, but it's good for roses in my backyard.

At the nearby reservoir, I saw an Osprey hunting and diving for a fish.

"No fish today."

"I will try another place."

A Fancy Mask

Many Cedar Waxwings are around the wetland this summer.   Their face mask is for a carnival.

They like to eat berries.

"Yummy!"

At berry spots, you may find more Cedar Waxwings.

"I'm done with these berries."

Summer Colors

A flower in early summer:  Peony

Black-headed Grosbeak sometimes visit my backyard during the summer months.

Female:  "I came back to eat your sunflower seeds."

At the nearby wetland,  I found one male yodeling loud.

"I look so bright against the blue sky, don't I."
