Two Generations of Americann Robin

A couple of Swallow Tail butterflies floated in on and out.  This one just landed on a pear leaf.

A young American Robin just born this summer is learning to feed himself now.

His mom loves to swallow a blueberry whenever coming into one of my blueberry bushes.

"Here it is.  The size of the berry just fits my mouth."

An Early Morning Scene

We arrived at the wetland around 8 am, earlier than usual, due to the high temperature.

Scenes from the wetland:  a yellow cabbage patch  butterfly: the first time I saw one around here.

One Family

Around this time of year, I see many birds visiting my backyard with their young ones.  Scrub jay, Black-capped Chickadee, House Finches, Spotted Towhees to name a few.

At present,  three young Scrub Jays and their Mom come here everyday.

Upon spotting his Mom, another one is ready with their mouth open big.

Here is the last one, inspecting his surrounding like a sentinel.

"I am big now.  No longer a baby."

Summer Hummingbird

With the real summer temperature, a male Rufous Hummingbird floated to my way the other day.  He likes the hot lips best.

"I do remember about these hot lips."

The second favorite is Bee Balm flower.  Last winter was mild, so this bee balm survived the winter.

"I am crazy about this nectar."
