Hummingbirds

 In summer, I like to see the Crocosmia flowers.  In the past I planted several of them, which all failed to come back the next summer.  So I just bought a couple of them again.  Hummingbirds love the nectar.

Anna's Hummingbirds stop by often all the year round.

"This is my home."

Rufous Hummingbirds stop by in summer only.  The other day, a couple of them were chasing each other.

"I like to perch on the clothesline.   I know the 

backyard owner likes to take my photos."

Summer Morning

 One bright sunny morning at the wetland, a female Redwing Blackbird had a couple of worms on the beak.

"I just found these juicy worms for my kids."

A total of six young ducks are marching along the trail.

"We are learning to walk together, 1,2,3,  1,2,3."

Up on a tall tree, a Northern Flicker was feeding a young one.

"A delicious worm, Honey."

Anna's Hummingbirds

 In my backyard, Zinnias are in bloom.

Anna's Hummingbirds are here all year long.  In summer, they like small red flowers such as hotlips.

"I like these flowers.  I can poke my beak so easy."😋

Sometimes, two of them come at the same time and they are ready to fight.

Hummer A:  "This is my garden!"😈

Hummer B:  "No, the flowers are mine!"💥😝

"Ok. I like these purple ones."😁

Cedar Waxwings

 A few years ago, there were many Cedar Waxwings at the wetland, but lately I only see some of them.

"Sometimes, I like to see far from the bare branch😁."

"Other times, I like to see far from the pine tree😎."

"But oftentimes, we are in a small flock like this morning😋😋😍."
