Rare Visitors to My Backyard

The other day I saw many birds flying into my backyard.

Here's one of them:   Cedar Waxwing.

"I just saw European Starlings flying around, so
I stopped over to see what's going on๐Ÿ‘€."

Surprisingly, a female Western Tanger also showed up here in the midst of all the commotion here๐Ÿ˜.

"Me, too๐Ÿ‘€.   I usually stay in the high canopy."

Lately, an American Crow come here.  Because on the ground they like to eat the suet crumbs that a squirrel have dropped earlier๐Ÿ˜€.

"No problem.  We like to clean them all up☝☝.  They are delicious๐Ÿ˜‹."

Summer Day in the Wetland

One day at the wetland.
On a nice day, the Bold Eagles are very happy up in the sky.

"Today is clear and warm.  Let's go up. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž"

On the ground, I saw many Canada Gooselings.  They are growing up quickly.

"We can now feed ourselves.  My mom does not have to do it anymore๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘."

Around the corner, a young Green Heron was staring at the water for another little fish.

"Always patience will be paid off! ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘‚๐Ÿ˜‹"

Swallow Families

Tree Swallows are busy at the wetland.

"We always come back here for summer.๐Ÿ˜"

"Mom,  I am waiting here inside.๐Ÿ‘€"

Here are many Purple Martins, too.  Every year they use this big nest.

"We are all extended families.  We feel comfortable helping one another.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘"

Summer Trio

Let me introduce you to the summer birds in my backyard.

"I am MacGillivray's Warbler.  I am a rare visitor here."

"I am an Orange-crowned Warbler.  I come here for
the sweet blueberry flowers every year.
There are plenty of them."

"I am Anna's Hummingbird.  I am not a summer bird and stay here all the year
around.  In early summer, I like to take a bath in the fountain."

Popular Blueberry Blossoms

Back to the rainy weather.  Slowly, but steadily it is getting warm in the backyard.

My blueberry bushes are blooming now. Little birds like to drink the nectar.

"Yeah,  I've been waiting for it for a year."

"Me, too.  I love the taste."

House Finches like to eat the flower petals.

"I am sneaking in to eat the flower petals.  I know I get scolded."
