Anna's Summer

Finally the hot weather returned.  This weekend will be very hot around 90 F degrees.  With this temperature,   Anna's Hummingbirds come by here often ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜.

"I love the hotlips.  They are made just right for my beak ๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’“."

"There are a lot of flowers.  Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, which one is it the sweetest?๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€"

"Here are the purple ones.  Are these sweeter than the red ones?๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘"

The Wetland Friends

At the wetland nearby, I sometimes see a squirrel.

"Hi, I see many people with a black box (camera) around here๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€."

Here is a Rufous Hummingbird at the top of a bare branch.

"I like this top to see all the way to the other end of the reservoir๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’“."

Black-headed Grosbeaks are here every summer.  I can hear them singing, but most of the times, it is difficult to spot them.  This time luckily I saw him sticking out his head๐Ÿ˜‰.

"I want my girl to find me๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜."

Breakfast

In spring, Tree Swallows arrived at the wetland earlier than other summer birds.  There are many nest boxes around for their use.  Now is the time to see how the birds are using the boxes.

"There, mommy is coming๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜!"

"We are hungry๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜."

"I got it first๐Ÿ˜‹!"

Nest Building Material?

It is raining again.  But my roses are now beginning to bloom

Yellow Roses

At the wetland, we saw two Ospreys early in the morning๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜.

"I am trying to catch a fish down there๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ฆ."

Here is a photo of another osprey carrying a bamboo stick๐Ÿ˜„.  What for?

"I have to hurry back home for the nest building๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ‘."
