On a Windy Day

The very cold temperature returned and stayed here for a week.  Even on a sunny day, we shivered with the chilly wind.

"It is chilly....😣😣"

A couple of Bald Eagles were perched on the regular tree.  As we walked around the reservoir, one flew over us.

"It's been cold.  Don't catch any virusπŸ‘πŸ‘."

There were enough Canada Geese around.  In the protected area, five of them were almost suntanning.

"The sun really keeps us warm in the early spring😊😊."

Meeting at the Feeders

In the spring, birds are busy.  They often meet each other at the feeder.

Bewick's Wren to Downy Woodpecker:  "Good to see you.  You are my suet friend."

Black-capped Chickadee to Bewick's Wren:  "I am first.  Just wait a minute."

Yellow-rumped Warbler (left):  "When are you leaving for the woods?"
Townsend's Warbler:  "Not yet.  I love the suet here."

Spring Cleaning

In the morning it is still very cold, so Chestnut-backed Chickadees still stops over here before leaving for the woods.

"I still like your suets.πŸ˜‹"

In a sunny afternoon,   he/she can take a quick spring bath.

"It's about the time to clean up my feathers.  Spring cleaning!!πŸ‘πŸ‘"

I even saw a Townsend's Warbler taking a bath the other day.

"I am tired of the heavy feathers.  I like to get all cleaned up.πŸ‘πŸ‘"

Anna's Hummingbirds

Anna's Hummingbirds are tough through the cold months.  They like the sugar juice I  hang at several places in the backyard (homemade:  one Cup of water and 2 tablespoonfuls of sugar.  Boil and cool).  I could tell there are at least three of them around.

"Slurp, slurp,  I like this feeder best.  I can perch on the swing to drinkπŸ˜‹."

"I like this flat feederπŸ‘.  I know you peek at me!"

"I like this feeder.  It is a big one which never runs out of the juice😍😍😍."
