A Summer Bird

Several days of high temperature are now gone; the average temperature returned with some rain.
During the hot spell, one summer bird flew right into my backyard.  He is fast like a yellow bullet.

"Hi, I am a Wilson's Warbler.  I can be easily
spotted by predators.  That's why I am super swift."

"You can just see my head a little better."

For your info, I will be out for a while.  I will be updating upon my return.

Early Summer

It has been too hot for May.  The dry, hot weather can lead to a brush and forest fire.
My blueberry bushes have many flowers.  Not as many as last year, but still it is good.  Bumble Bees and Honey Bees come over to collect the nectar.

House Finches like to eat off the blossoms, and I sometimes have to chase them out.

"This is one of my favorite.  I like to keep on munching."

"I'd rather find a worm on the lawn.  Right now I am
busy building my nest with the moss, mud, and dry grass."

Spring Visitor #2

White-crowned Sparrow stops over in the spring time.  For a few days, it shows up for a while.

Today was warm, so both the White-crowned Sparrow (left) and the Golden-crowned Sparrow (right) decided to take a sunbathing.

"It's relaxing here.  I have everything I need."
